The role as Product Engineer Avalanche Safety & Climbing is at the forefront of developing life-saving personal protective equipment (PPE) for avalanche safety and climbing. Your work will directly impact outdoor enthusiasts, mountaineers, and adventurers worldwide. From designing cutting-edge avalanche beacons to ensuring compliance with safety standards, your role is essential in keeping people safe in extreme environments.

Do what you love
  • Barryvox Beacon Ownership: You'll be the technical product owner for the Barryvox avalanche beacon series. Dive deep into technical details, drive feature roadmaps, and collaborate with external partners to enhance safety and performance.
  • Design and Validation (PPE): Transform design sketches into 3D CAD models, create rapid prototypes, and optimize functionality, haptics, and aesthetics.
  • Technical Excellence (PPE): Uphold Mammut's internal standards, PPE directives, and EN standards.
  • Rigorously validate products through lab and field tests, ensuring they meet internal and external standards
Play to your strengths
  • Degree in electronic engineering
  • Strong knowledge in the application of avalanche safety gear products and PPE
  • Experience in design, layout and modularization of products as well as in material and product validation (laboratory and field testing)
  • A good understanding of material properties, material selection process and material testing as well as of 
    production processes, especially injection molding and metal processing
  • A creative, efficient and flexible personality with a high interest in mountain sports activities
  • Teamplayer with a forward and entrepreneurial thinking mindset and high problem solving skills
  • Strong knowledge in MS Office and 3D CAD Software
  • Fluent in English, other languages are a plus
