Transaction Tax Specialist – Private Markets Operations

Job Description
 

In this position, you will be part of our team of tax professionals that support LGT Capital Partners investment / legal professionals in the management of all tax aspects of our private market investment activities.

  • Supporting the investment / legal professionals in the transaction tax management and tax structuring aspects across our business lines (Private Equity, Private Real Estate, Private Infrastructure, Private Credit) on fund of funds investments but also direct / co-investments;

  • Monitoring existing investments in relation to their tax efficiency and pro-actively design and suggest alternatives if required;

  • Coordinating the tax onboarding of investments;

  • Supporting strategic tax projects and continuous screening of tax legislation changes;

  • Coordinating and managing outside tax counsels;

  • Training of investment and legal team members in tax matters;

  • Supporting our wider teams (e.g. fund formation, tax operations, sales, controlling / accounting) on tax related matters.

Requirements

  • Top academic credentials and advanced degree (e.g., LL.M., MBA in finance, law school or equivalent);

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience as a tax lawyer with a highly recognized law firm or “Big Four” or as an in-house tax counsel at major investment fund managers;

  • Solid track record on tax structuring for fund investments as well as direct investments;

  • Experience in cross-border tax matters involving the main European countries, US and Asia;

  • Fluent in English, and other languages (in particular German) being a plus;

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, high attention to details and finance aspects of tax work;

  • Team Player with strong interpersonal skills.
