We are seeking an experienced and passionate Secondary German Language & Literature Teacher to join our Senior School team from August 2026.

You will teach German Language & Literature across the Secondary School, with a particular emphasis on the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11 and 12), while potentially also teaching German Language Acquisition. You will inspire students through literature, language and culture, helping them become confident communicators, critical thinkers and internationally minded learners.

This role is ideal for an educator who combines strong subject expertise with engaging pedagogy and a genuine commitment to student wellbeing and academic excellence.

Secondary German Language & Literature Teacher – Senior School

• Teach German Language & Literature within the IB framework, particularly DP courses
• Prepare students for Internal Assessments and IB examinations
• Design engaging and differentiated units centred on literature, language and critical thinking
• Assess, track and report student progress in line with IB and ICS expectations
• Support students' social and emotional wellbeing as a teacher and tutor
• Collaborate within the Language & Literature Department and wider Senior School team
• Contribute to interdisciplinary learning, co-curricular activities and school life
• Potentially teach German Language Acquisition classes
• Use technology meaningfully to enhance teaching and learning

• Degree in German, Literature or a related field with a recognised teaching qualification
• Proven experience teaching German Language & Literature at Secondary level
• Experience with IB Diploma Programme and/or MYP preferred
• Strong understanding of language learning pedagogy
• Minimum 4 years of recent and relevant Secondary School teaching experience
• Nice to have the EDK recognition
• Experience in an international school environment is an advantage
• Excellent English communication skills
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills
• Experience supporting learners with diverse needs
• Reflective, collaborative and student-centred approach
• Passion for literature, language and intercultural learning
