We are seeking a forward-thinking
Program Manager Space
who want to further develop our space innovation ecosystem and capabilities to scale it to the top league internationally.
Mission:
The Program Manager Space is responsible for the development of the program with a strong focus on execution and operationalization of the innovations. In addition, he is responsible for the promotion and day-to-day operations of the program.This includes expanding the community, developing and strengthening test platforms, and putting in place the resources and support required to help entrepreneurs succeed. The Program Manager is expected to work autonomously and act as a driving force within the ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and animate a strong, interconnected space innovation ecosystem in close collaboration with key stakeholders
- Develop and position the program as a top three global hub for space tech acceleration and scale-up.
- Contribute to the program’s long-term strategic vision and expansion
- Recruit high-quality space start-ups, experts and established companies
- Design and run events and communication initiatives to support the program’s success
- Create the necessary support mechanisms to accelerate the market success of innovations.
- Ensure the satisfaction of all stakeholders and drive continuous program improvement.
- Manage the program budget and oversee the proper allocation and use of grants by start-ups.
- Actively fundraise to support program’s growth and its scale impact.
- Build new partnerships to ensure a strong deal flow of start-ups and access to complementary infrastructure and services.
- Animate and grow the start-up and expert community around the program through events, workshops and content.
- Coordinate activities and align efforts with other programs across EPFL Innovation Park to foster synergies, share resources, and multiply impact.
Your Profile:
- Astrophysics background, Aerospace Engineering background or other MSc/PhD with an unfettered interest in all facets of the space industry
- 3 years’ experience in the space industry and/or in a similar role
- Experience in developing startups and scale ups in civil and defence market
- Demonstrated ability to build, develop and run public private partnerships
- Strong network in the space industry in Europe (USA and global markets is a plus)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strategic thinking, creative and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Fluency in English, French and/or German would be a strong plus.
