As Director Fitting Software Solutions, you will shape the future of Sonova's global fitting software ecosystem by leading the end-to-end delivery, integration and evolution of scalable, brand-agnostic fitting software applications used across multiple brands and regions. You will ensure our solutions deliver meaningful audiological value while meeting the highest standards of quality, scalability and regulatory compliance.
Working within our globally integrated R&D organization, you'll collaborate across engineering, product and business functions to drive predictable delivery of fitting software applications, enable technical excellence and influence the long-term evolution of Sonova's fitting software portfolio. In this highly visible leadership role, you'll help shape software solutions that empower hearing care professionals and improve the lives of millions of people with hearing loss worldwide.
More about the role
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of fitting software applications, from feature development through integration, stabilization and release readiness.
- Drive the integration, evolution and lifecycle management of fitting software applications and variants, ensuring scalable, robust and brand-agnostic solutions across global markets.
- Translate product priorities into executable delivery plans while managing dependencies, timelines, delivery risks and cross-functional trade-offs across multiple release trains.
- Ensure successful software integration, verification readiness, stabilization activities and release governance in close collaboration with System Integration, Platform & Component Software, Audiological, Development and Verification teams.
- Partner closely with Marketing, Brand teams and business stakeholders to deliver fitting software solutions that support global, regional and commercial priorities.
- Champion delivery governance, quality standards, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Lead, develop and grow high-performing global engineering teams by fostering technical excellence, building organizational capability and developing future leaders.
More about you
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience in complex, regulated software development environments.
- Extensive experience in fitting software or related hearing system development, including software application delivery, integration and lifecycle management.
- Proven leadership experience delivering complex software solutions within multi-release, regulated product development environments.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional, international software engineering teams across multi-site and multi-brand organizations.
- Strong expertise in software delivery governance, release planning, dependency management, software lifecycle management and technical debt management.
- Strong systems thinking with the ability to navigate complex, multi-domain environments and balance quality, risk, scalability and business priorities while making sound technical and delivery trade-off decisions.
- Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and alignment across engineering, marketing, audiology and business teams.
- Fluency in English.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of medical device regulations and software validation frameworks.
- Experience leading organizational transformation or working with data-informed product development and analytics platforms.
- Proficiency in German would be an advantage.
