Senior Oracle Exadata Engineer at Oracle

As a Senior Oracle Exadata Engineer, you are responsible for the architecture, implementation, operation, and optimization of our Oracle Exadata Database Machine environments. You'll work with virtualized KVM hosts supporting mission-critical workloads like OLTP and Data Warehousing. You will partner closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security across our on-premises systems.

Your Responsibilities

• Architecture & Design: You take over Exadata capacity planning and ensure High Availability (HA) using RAC.

• Disaster Recovery & Backup: You manage DR with (Active) Data Guard and handle backup/restore processes via RMAN.

• Optimization: You leverage Smart Scan, HCC, and IORM to get the most out of the systems.

• Lifecycle Management: You lead upgrades and migrations and handle incident/change management according to ITIL.

• Performance Tuning: You use AWR/ASH and SQL tuning to optimize I/O and overall system performance.

What You Bring to the Team

• Experience: You have over 7 years of experience in Oracle DBA/Engineering, with at least 3 years specifically focused on Exadata.

• Technical Expertise: You have deep knowledge of RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN. You are hands-on with Exadata X-Series, Storage Indexes, and HCC.

• Systems & Automation: You are proficient in Linux administration, OEM monitoring, and Ansible scripting (1-3 years).

• Industry Background: Ideally, you have 1-3 years of experience in the banking sector.

• Education: You hold a University degree (Master or similar) and relevant Oracle certifications.

• Skills: You are a strong problem-solver with a background in DevOps and advisory activities (4-6 years).

• Languages: Your English is excellent (written and spoken), and you have a good command of German.
