Trading IT is a functional unit that supports Energy Trading Business with implementation and management of their systems.
In this role you will report to the Head of Trading IT. Your primary responsibilities will be to articulate business ideas, suggestions and problems in technology terms, developing technical concepts and solutions to business problems. You will manage requirements at both demand and project levels, provide support to projects and service delivery activities and take a key role in the creation of business cases for change activities together with business stakeholders. This role is to be based in either Lausanne or Olten.
Your main responsibilities and objectives will be:
To support the Technology Partners within Trading IT in qualifying demand opportunities with a technical delivery element by:
Supporting the development of business cases and the prioritization process
Developing requirement specifications that will allow business representatives, SW engineers, technical experts and project managers to determine with more accuracy the estimates of cost, time and resources to implement solutions
Collating and providing feedback about existing individual services to the Technology Partners and Architects, and supporting the strategic change activities
Highlighting and identifying gaps in existing functionality and frame such problems in technology terms (with support from resources from the various teams within Trading IT Technology)
To work closely with Architects to propose solutions for business requirements, ideas and problems while driving convergence of changes to the Trading IT target architecture and roadmap
To support the shift towards a simplified, microservices architecture and the reuse of assets and services and to pursue the changes required to achieve the technology objectives
To liaise with project and development teams to suggest a high-level functional solution by acting as an SME on a business requirements specification or a solution with the development team during design, build and test phases
To assist in the Quality Assurance and Testing process as a key reviewer to determine whether a developed solution meets functional requirements and is fit for purpose
To understand the technology landscape within Trading IT, business models and key processes of the different business areas, as well as the products, services and SLAs delivered
To identify and raise change requests related to externally managed services where relevant to fulfill committed business requests
Adhere to the Trading IT Information Security Management System in your area of responsibility
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent certification, ideally in an engineering, computer science, or similar technical discipline
A minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience, ideally from an energy commodity trading background (or financial services)
Knowledge of project management and software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, DevOps) or a willingness to learn
Solid understanding of how applications, technology and IT services support business processes in a trading environment
Good communications and interpersonal skills, team and goal oriented, analytical and problem-solving skills are highly valued
Fluent in English; competency in German and French is advantageous
