Visiting Professor in Artificial Intelligence and the Law
The University of Bern Law School is seeking highly qualified candidates for a visiting professor position in the exciting and rapidly evolving field of Artificial Intelligence and the Law. This unique opportunity invites individuals with a deep understanding of the intersection between AI and legal principles to contribute to the academic community.
Term: Fall Term 2024 (Mid-September to Mid-December)
Visiting Professor in Artificial Intelligence and the Law
Responsibilities
- Teach a class and conduct a seminar during the fall term
- Engage in mentorship and contribute to the academic development of students
- Administer exams (January 2025, online with local support)
- Participate in faculty and university activities, notably regarding questions of AI and the Law
Qualifications
- Demonstrated excellence in research, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence and its legal implications
- Strong interest in teaching and commitment to mentorship
- Ability to contribute to and stimulate research and student interest in the interaction between AI and law
Remuneration and Other Benefits
Salary:
- CHF 48,000 for applicants holding a professorial position or possessing a "habilitation"
- CHF 34,000 for applicants with a Ph.D.
Other Benefits:
- Stipend of CHF 6,500 for initial and final travel expenses as well as work-related travel during the tenure.
