À propos de cette offre
Your role:
You will help customers turn complex process-monitoring challenges into practical and reliable technical solutions.
You will accompany customer projects from the initial application discussion through technical evaluation, proof-of-concept testing, specification, system delivery, installation, and training.
As a central interface between our customers, international application teams, sales, R&D, software development, and manufacturing, you will determine whether customer applications are a good fit for Spacetek’s technology. You will combine scientific understanding with the engineering judgement required to deliver solutions that perform reliably under real production conditions
Your responsibilities:
- Understand customer processes, technical challenges, and underlying application needs.
- Evaluate whether potential customer applications are a suitable fit for Spacetek’s proprietary TOF-MS technology.
- Challenge and clarify customer requirements to establish a technically feasible and commercially meaningful project scope.
- Develop pragmatic application solutions that balance measurement performance with reliability, usability, timelines, and commercial relevance.
- Plan proof-of-concept activities, including experimental strategies, simulations, measurements, and data analysis.
- Work with Spacetek’s scientific and technical experts to evaluate application feasibility and prepare successful customer trials.
- Coordinate customer projects from the initial inquiry through detailed specification, production, system acceptance, installation, and application testing.
- Organize customer meetings and manage the related technical communication and follow-up activities.
- Prepare application notes, technical proposals, specifications, manuals, white papers, and training materials.
- Support the final testing and acceptance of customer-specific systems in collaboration with our testing and manufacturing teams.
- Install and commission systems at customer sites, including the required vacuum connections and functional checks.
- Develop and deliver technical and application training for customers, international application teams, and field engineers.
- Act as the go-to person for application questions and complex technical challenges.
- Take ownership of troubleshooting projects and coordinate the related activities with customers, R&D, software development, manufacturing, and field service.
- Define, adapt, and run Python scripts for data analysis, experiment automation, or instrument control where required.
- Translate customer and market needs into clear requirements for future hardware, software, and service developments.
Your profile:
- A degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, analytical sciences, or a related technical field. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical qualification is fully sufficient.
- Practical experience in an industrial or commercial technology environment, for example in application engineering, process development, technical customer support, field service, industrial R&D, or a comparable role.
- An engineering mindset and a strong interest in turning complex technical challenges into practical and reliable solutions.
- Experience with complex technical equipment, preferably analytical instrumentation, vacuum systems, gas analysis, mass spectrometry, process equipment, or comparable technologies.
- Strong analytical skills combined with a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach.
- A hands-on mindset and the willingness to work directly with instruments, experimental setups, vacuum connections, and customer installations.
- The ability to balance measurement performance with technical feasibility, reliability, usability, timelines, and commercial relevance.
- The confidence to question customer requirements constructively and propose solutions that address the underlying application need.
- Basic programming or scripting experience, ideally in Python, or a clear willingness to develop these skills.
- A structured and independent working style combined with a strong sense of ownership.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical subjects in a practical and customer-oriented way.
- An open and collaborative personality, with confidence working with customers and colleagues from different cultural backgrounds.
- Fluency in English.
- Willingness to travel internationally for up to 30% of your working time, particularly to Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Europe, and the United States.
Additional advantages:
- Experience working with equipment used in an industrial manufacturing or production environment.
- Understanding of the reliability, uptime, safety, documentation, and support requirements associated with production equipment.
- Experience with semiconductor manufacturing or processes such as etching deposition, or other vacuum processes.
- Experience with high- or ultra-high-vacuum technology.
- Knowledge of mass spectrometry, gas analysis, or another analytical measurement technology.
- Experience planning and executing proof-of-concept studies or customer application trials.
- Experience installing, commissioning, or troubleshooting technical equipment at customer sites.
- Knowledge of Python-based data analysis, experiment automation, or instrument control.
- German or Mandarin language skills.
Semiconductor experience is an advantage but is not a requirement. You will work closely with experienced semiconductor and scientific specialists within Spacetek and will receive the support required to develop your industry and application knowledge.
Have we piqued your interest? Then we look forward to receiving your application including a short explanation of why this combination of technology, customer interaction, and hands-on engineering appeals to you.
Introduction
Spacetek's technology has its origins in scientific space flight. We use this expertise to design, manufacture and distribute compact and robust time-of-flight mass spectrometers (TOF-MS) for industrial and space applications. Our focus is to close the gap in the current lack of process control of existing and future manufacturing technologies in the semiconductor industry.
Our products redefine the real-time analysis of chemical processes in physical processes. This massively improves process control and increases production yields. At the same time, waste and environmental impact are minimized. Our innovation is used in an international environment with business partners in Germany, Korea and Japan. Our network is growing rapidly in Asia, Europe and the USA.
The company is based in Switzerland (Gümligen) and has a team of 42 members. Our company has an office in Taiwan (Taichung).
To strengthen our international team in Gümligen, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented
