Supply Chain Procurement Specialist

for its global Pharma Division Headquarter based in Allschwil- Basel.

Primary Job Function:

The Global Supply chain specialist will be accountable to issue on-time PO’s and STOs to the assigned suppliers and maintenance of this PO portfolio, all in line with business strategies, financial plans, capacity constraints and the target inventory profile. The Global Supply chain specialist will act according to the assigned horizon (short term or mid-term)

Core Job Responsibilities:

Order Execution Group

Accountable to issue on-time PO’s and STOs to the assigned suppliers and maintenance of this PO portfolio. (Includes open order file creation, sharing and administration, order change management handling, close track of order execution and informing stakeholders proactively in deviations, etc.)

Ensure close collaboration & communication with TPM’s or manufacturing sites, inside frozen period.

Provide (internal) customers pro-active information about any change in supply and/or shipments plans. Coordinate action plans to align. Works very closely with Customer Operations and Brand Planner.

Proactively avoid product backorders inside the frozen period and develop action plans upon their occurrence.

Manage shortage of supplies inside the frozen period and provide business impact and mitigation scenarios.

Demand Management

Responsible to understand and appropriately support demand changes from monthly published commercial forecast impacting frozen period.

Review demand Risks and Opportunities inside the frozen period and pro-actively develop scenarios, to enable agility and speed in decision making processes.

Cross functional communication with different departments to ensure fulfillment of customer requests.

Supply Management

Resolving supply issues inside frozen period in close alignment with Brand Planner.

Responsible to measure Supplier Performance, reporting of results and provide appropriate CAPA in case of performance below target.

Review and validate in transits and receipts from suppliers if applicable.

Provides Volume projections/Last Best Estimates inside frozen period for assigned product portfolio.

Responsible for Hedging information

Responsible for coordination of planning activities on New Product Introductions and Label changes for assigned suppliers inside frozen period (i.e. update actual MADs in ATOM, etc.)

Run the Weekly Check File and act on all Order, Inventory, Demand or Miscellaneous reported events inside frozen period.

Create/Maintain critical Product or Supplier Information as per agreed templates/tools.

Inventory management

Responsible for Monthly Inventory Report (MIR) analysis and input.

Manage any slow or non-moving inventory to avoid obsolescence. Proactively work with customer and supplier to prevent and/or manage inventory write-off.

Other

Assure compliance with local and Abbott quality, financial, and regulatory rules, policies and procedures

Responsible for providing (Master Data) input for Vendor set-up and maintenance.

Projects: Manage/Lead projects as assigned

Manage weekly and monthly KPI reporting & (short) interval control reports. Lead and follow-up on RCA

Maintain effective relationships with internal EPD stakeholders, (third party) manufacturing sites, and regional counterparts.

Drive continues improvement

Minimum Education:

Bachelor (BSc) or Master (MSc) level

Field: Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Operations Management or Business Administration

Minimum Experience/Training Required:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Supply chain environment (demand/supply/production planning), preferably in Pharma business.

Good communication skills (English written and oral, another language is an advantage) and an ability to work cross-functionally in an international environment

Strong analytical skills are a necessity for capacity planning, inventory management and KPI analysis. Allow making sound decisions based on good judgment to.

Good foundation in Basics of Supply Chain management

Good understanding of S&OP/MRP (Material Requirement Planning)/MPS (Master Production Schedule) planning systems and business applications is preferred

Experience with SAP ECC/APO is preferred

Innovation and initiative are required to identify and implement business process improvements

Adaptable and maintain the ability to be flexible in an ever changing and challenging environment
