The Global Category Manager for is responsible for leading the global strategy and portfolio management. This includes developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving innovation to achieve global procurement objectives in the areas of sustainability, quality, cost, delivery, and network.
This is where you'll excel
- You develop and implement global category strategies as well as lead cross-functional project teams to execute sourcing projects and initiatives
- You build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and negotiate and manage contracts, pricing, and terms
- You monitor market trends and apply cost-effective solutions as well as identify and drive cost reduction initiatives
- In this role you collaborate with R&D and life cycle management teams to incorporate new technologies
- You identify and mitigate global supply chain risks
These are the skills you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics or Supply Chain Management
- 5-7 years of experience in procurement combined with production and R&D, with at least 2 years in a global category management role
- Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Very good communication skills in German and English (minimum B2)
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time
