Senior Cloud Platform Engineer
The Platform Team is responsible for building, operating and continuously evolving cloud platform capabilities and core infrastructure services that enable the development, deployment, and operation of secure, scalable, and mission-critical digital solutions. The team works at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, automation, and software engineering to provide a robust Platform-as-a-Service foundation for SICPA's digital products and services.
We are looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer who is passionate about cloud-native technologies, infrastructure automation, and platform engineering. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a collaborative mindset and enjoys designing, delivering, and operating modern cloud platforms that empower development teams and business solutions.
Your Responsibilities
- Architect, develop and operate cloud platform capabilities and core infrastructure services.
- Contribute to the definition and execution of the platform's technical and functional roadmap.
- Design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code solutions to enable consistent, scalable, and automated deployments across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Build, maintain and optimize CI/CD platforms, pipelines and automation frameworks supporting software delivery at scale.
- Design and implement cloud operational best practices, including monitoring, observability, disaster recovery, and operational resilience.
- Develop and maintain platform services, automation tooling, and operational capabilities using modern software engineering practices.
- Apply software engineering best practices, including automated testing, peer code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, DevOps engineers, architects, and product teams to improve platform adoption and developer experience.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, platform planning, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the deployment and operation of cloud-native platforms, data services, and infrastructure components.
Your Profile
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience as a Cloud Platform Engineer, Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent role.
- Strong experience deploying and operating Kubernetes-based container platforms.
- Experience with one or more major public cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, or equivalent cloud technologies.
- Strong programming and automation skills in Python and shell scripting.
- Ability to understand, troubleshoot and collaborate on solutions developed in languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go, Groovy or similar.
- Experience building and maintaining container images and Kubernetes ecosystem components, including Helm and Operators.
- Experience designing and operating CI/CD platforms, workflows, and deployment automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management technologies such as Terraform, Terragrunt, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
- Experience operating cloud-native data and messaging platforms such as Kafka, PostgreSQL, or similar technologies.
- Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and distributed systems concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration across teams.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and modern software delivery practices.
- Fluent in English; French is a plus.
