Application Engineer AIM (80-100%)
Location: Wangen b. Dübendorf
When: 1 May 2026 or upon availability
In this role, you ensure the reliability and evolution of our AIM (Aeronautical Information Management) systems by analysing complex operational changes and driving their safe, coordinated implementation. You collaborate closely with engineers, users and change managers to resolve technical issues, integrate new functionalities and deliver high quality solutions. Through thoughtful testing, clear documentation and proactive ownership, you help us maintain a resilient, future ready system landscape.
- Analyse system impacts for complex operational changes across the AIM application landscape
- Investigate technical incidents and provide 3rd?level support in close collaboration with engineering, maintenance teams and users
- Coordinate and implement change and project activities in both agile and waterfall environments
- Work closely with fellow AIM application engineers to ensure seamless system integration and knowledge sharing
- Plan and execute application testing, including test design, reporting and User Acceptance Testing
- Prepare clear and accessible documentation for requirements, Quality Assurance, compliance, testing, user guidance and training
- Serve as a point of contact for change managers, ensuring smooth planning and execution of minor to major system changes
- A degree in IT, Aeronautics or a similar technical field; experience in the aviation sector is a plus
- Experience in application management within a high?reliability or safety?critical environment
- Skills in requirements engineering; GIS and AIXM knowledge considered a strong advantage
- Basic understanding of software development, virtualized infrastructures and service?oriented architectures
- Problemsolving: You seek accurate information to analyse problems, break down complex issues into manageable parts, and approach solutions in a systematic and structured way
- Decisionmaking: You gather accurate information, break down complex issues with analytical clarity and attention to detail, and approach solutions in a structured, inclusive and outcome focused way.
- Proficient in English written and orally, good command in German is a plus
