The potential for improvement is enormous - particularly in the areas of management culture, planning, communication and compliance with labor law.
Duty rosters are often drawn up at very short notice and statutory rest periods between shifts are not observed. Criticism is not accepted, but leads to pressure, isolation or even dismissal during sick leave.
Transparent wage and hour accounting is lacking; manual corrections are made retrospectively, often to the detriment of employees. There is a toxic working atmosphere that has put psychological strain on many colleagues. My own health complaints are also demonstrably attributable to the working conditions there.
Vacations are postponed or canceled without consultation, written promises (e.g. no early shifts) are later ignored. Deficiencies are systematically swept under the carpet instead of being dealt with constructively.
