Description:

Our Paint It Easy team is looking for an assistant art teacher to work with our PIE core team, assisting in teaching children and teens classes at international school campuses.

To fit the profile of assistant art teacher, you should be able to support our leading teacher encouraging creativity and self-expression among students.

You should also be able to list and communicate art supplies needs, prepare the classroom according to the lesson plan, and provide developmentally appropriate instructions on art techniques.

You must reside in Basel or outskirts and have a valid working permit to be considered for the job.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing the classroom by gathering and setting up equipment.
• Providing assistance to the leading teacher by helping with instruction on the use of media such as acrylic paint, watercolors, charcoal, soft and oil pastels, clay, among others.
• Monitoring inventory and communicating art supplies needs.
• Cleaning up the classroom, gathering and storing equipment away.

Requirements:

• Experience with acrylic painting and other mediums such as charcoal, soft and oil pastels, watercolors, and clay, among others.
• Available to work during Wednesday and Friday afternoons.
• Previous work experience with children.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Clean criminal record.
• Reside in Basel or outskirts.
• Valid working permit.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Art Teaching or equivalent.

Salary:

25 CHF per hour (gross)

Contract type:

Approximately 10%-20%

Schedule:

- Wednesdays: 14:40 - 17:10

- Fridays: 15:00 - 17:30
