Functional Genomics Center Zurich
The Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ) is a joint state-of-the-art research and training facility of the ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich. With the latest technologies and key expertise for omics research, the FGCZ provides research services and project support to the Zurich life science research community.
Project background
The FGCZ Metabolomics Unit supports internal and external research groups by offering services, training, and instrument access. The analytical portfolio includes identifying and quantifying metabolites and lipids in body fluids, tissues and cells. The team covers all steps from initial consultation, experimental design, sample preparation, LC-MS/MS data acquisition, data processing, data analysis, and -interpretation. The group is supported by IT and bioinformatics experts and by the proteomics and genomics teams of the FGCZ to support multi-omics approaches.
Job description
The metabolomics unit at FGCZ is expanding its portfolio and analytical capabilities to meet the increasing project needs. Therefore, we are looking for a motivated and skilled metabolomics/lipidomicstechnician (specialist) to strengthen the team in sample preparation and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) measurements in targeted and untargeted metabolomics and lipidomics workflows.
