Responsibilities
As an R&D Engineer, you will support Piezon research to develop breakthrough solutions that enhance the success of our Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT). You will focus on design challenges related to instruments and handpieces, contributing to the growth and sustainability of our product portfolio.
How You Will Contribute
- Expertise in (electro-)mechanical vibrating systems using piezoelectric transducers (Piezoceramics engine with Langevin horn).
- Experience in integrating electromechanical devices, from concept to prototyping phases.
- Proficiency in designing for manufacturing and quality.
- Skilled in using SolidWorks CAD and COMSOL or equivalent simulation tools.
- Lead work packages for product innovation and improvements.
- Ability to design and execute test plans to validate designs or prototypes.
- Manage relationships with external partners and suppliers.
- Support knowledge transfer to shared services (production, incoming inspection, quality).
- Conduct market research, evaluate similar products, and perform laboratory testing.
- Manage research projects with external laboratories.
- Proficiency in using MATLAB or equivalent tools for data analysis.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of piezoelectric materials and properties.
- Experience in the medical device industry.
- Capability to design both plastic and metallic parts.
- Basic knowledge of LabVIEW or equivalent tools for semi-automatic test benches.
Profile
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Microtechnology.
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Pragmatic and data-driven approach.
- Recognized team player with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to translate user needs into technical specifications.
- Versatile and able to work on multiple projects, from innovation to development and production support.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
