We are looking for a new

for our Zurich Office.

As the Head of Schellenberg Wittmer's Zurich Human Resources (HR) department, you will lead the HR processes, advance our people management and promote the Firm's culture and ambitions. You will shape a scalable HR department with company and local law compliant HR policies, processes and systems to support our Zurich office and the whole Firm. You will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer with a functional line to the local Human Resources Officer at the partner level of the Firm.

Your assignments and responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the Zurich HR department, including recruiting, staff development, evaluation and administration, actively engaging in all tasks. 
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Firm's HR strategy, policies and tools, in line with the Firm's strategy and ambitions.
  • Serve as an HR Business Partner, supporting the business with all HR related queries, and acting as a first point of contact for senior management on HR policy issues as well as strategic and operational questions.
  • In partnership with our Geneva Head of HR, drive digitalization (including the implementation of a new HRIS tool) and innovation within the HR department. 
  • Ensure proper introduction and implementation of changes in the organization.
  • Maintain and promote Schellenberg Wittmer's positive work culture and monitor employee satisfaction on a regular basis.
  • Actively engage in talent management.
  • In partnership with our MarComBD department develop an effective employer branding aligned with our culture and values
  • Plan and implement training programs for employees and managers. 
  • Oversee the personnel insurance portfolio, conducting regular reviews and renegotiating contracts when necessary. 
  • Ensure legal compliance with relevant HR laws and regulations. 
  • Conduct strategic resource planning, develop and implement recruitment strategies, manage the recruitment process as well as the onboarding process of new team members. 

We are looking for candidates meeting the following criteria:

  • A proven track record with relevant HR working experience, including experience in a management role. Legal industry experience is a definite plus.
  • Relevant degree in HR education.
  • Exceptional leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. 
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization. 
  • Operational knowledge of key HR processes and hands-on experience, preferably in a small to medium-sized company. 
  • Good insights into the local legal industry labor market and market practices on employee benefits.
  • Experience in recruiting for various profiles, such as legal assistants, lawyers and business services specialists.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing organizational needs. 
  • Proven problem-solving expertise. 
  • Ability to structure activities and projects as well as to stick to agreements within deadlines and according to guidelines.
  • Pro-active, well-organized, client focused and result driven personality.
  • Passion for driving positive change.
  • Excellent German and English language skills (verbal/written), additional French language skills is a plus.
  • Tech savvy, proficiency in O365. Experience with an HRIS and its implementation is a plus.
