Want to join one of the leading architectural firms in the world? BIG Zürich is looking for an efficient and structured People & Office Coordinator. It is a new position, so there will be plenty of room to influence the role of responsibilities.

As our new People & Office Coordinator, you will have a key role in the Zürich office and will be responsible for a wide variety of admin tasks. You will engage with the team of architects in Zürich, our collaborators and the Operations (OPS) teams in Copenhagen. For the perfect fit you must thrive in fast changing environment while still being able to stay organized, be proactive and have the overview while being positive and welcoming.

The position is part-time 20 hours per week and you will be based in our Zürich office. This role blends HR expertise and office coordination offering an opportunity to contribute significantly to our People team's initiatives.
As the People & Office Coordinator, you'll be the go-to for all employees in our Zürich office, managing administrative tasks and ensuring smooth office operations. You'll work closely with our People team in Copenhagen supporting People processes, participating in data collection and coordination. You will be the liaison to the IT team in Copenhagen as well as to local vendors. Collaboration is key as you will be the local representative interfacing with BIG offices and OPS teams and externals, contributing to the studio’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate administrative procedures aligned with People Team initiatives and manage ad-hoc People-related tasks
  • Support the office with knowledge on local employment law, pension, health insurance and immigration and similar
  • Support with office management related tasks
  • Organize and maintain a good working environment including social events and office supplies

The ideal candidate:

  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar HR administrative role
  • Educational background in Office Management, Employment Law, People/HR, Reception or Business Administration
  • Proficiency in Office365
  • Proficiency in English and German (or Swiss-German)
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic understanding of IT and HRIS in general is advantageous
