About the job
Reading traces, recognizing connections, making the truth visible: In forensic science, you secure and analyze crime-relevant traces, compare trace images, and prepare well-founded reports and expert opinions. We make a decisive contribution to the clarification of crimes and take responsibility in major events and identifications.
Your tasks
- Carrying out identification service measures: recording fingerprints, buccal mucosa swabs, wanted photos, and physical descriptions
- Supporting police and justice through correct data collection and identity verification
- Managing collected data including monitoring deletion deadlines
- Handling national and international identity clarifications as well as general administrative tasks and telephone inquiries
- On-call duty on weekends after successful training
Your profile
- Reliable, flexible personality (at least 30 years old) with recognized professional qualification and several years of professional experience, ideally in dealing with people
- Precise working method as well as confident handling of IT and photography
- Confident appearance, assertiveness, and high mental and physical resilience when dealing with difficult persons
- Very good German skills as well as good spoken French skills; additional foreign languages are an advantage
- Organizational skills, openness to new things, and ability to work in a team for collaboration at the Bern and partly Biel locations
- Driver's license category B
