About the job
Detention Officer 80% to 100%
- EDPR67
- The EEPB and EDPR are two high-security closed detention facilities. The first is responsible for executing sentences and measures for detainees with varied profiles. It specialises in long-term accommodation, behavioural development, and phased preparation for release. The second specialises in emergency reception, pre-trial detention, behavioural development, and short-term release preparation. Both focus on intervention in complex situations or those involving psychiatric disorders.
As a detention officer, you are responsible for supervising and overseeing detainees, respecting the regulations and security within the facility.
You accompany detainees daily during walks, visits, cultural and leisure activities.
By facilitating detainees' relationships with the outside world, you play a vital role in actively contributing to their social development and reintegration while respecting their fundamental rights. Finally, exchanges with various partners are an integral part of your duties, which are carried out according to varied hours, including night and weekend shifts.
Holder of a Federal VET Diploma or an equivalent qualification, you are at least 25 years old. Experience in security and excellent physical fitness are assets (physical tests and a medical examination may be required during recruitment).
Endowed with a true team spirit, you demonstrate openness, active listening, and discernment, including in managing conflict situations. Your natural authority allows you to enforce rules confidently while embodying a model of exemplary behaviour. Your social skills lead you to show empathy while maintaining the necessary professional distance.
You also have a good command of the French language and are comfortable with common IT tools.
