Graduate Assistant in Sports Regulation and Integrity (Sports Sociology)
Position Information
Start date: 1 February 2027
Contract duration: 1 year, renewable 2 x 2 years, maximum 5 years
Work rate: 100%
Workplace: Synathlon (Lausanne-Dorigny)
Gross annual salary: CHF 67,568.-, increasing each year according to the scale
Your Activities
The position is under the responsibility of Professor Madeleine Pape. The holder is expected to develop work on the field of integrity, regulation, and gender in sport with a sociological approach. Possible topics include: regulation of the female category; harassment, violence and masculinity; gender and sports betting; gender and athlete health; gender and technology in sport; sports participation of LGBTQ+ and/or racialised persons; or any other theme at the intersection of integrity, regulation, and gender.
The assistant will contribute to the operation of the Sport Integrity Lab at the University of Lausanne, notably to its collective research activities, its mandates with sports organisations, as well as to the production of resources intended for sports practitioners.
50% of the work rate will be dedicated to completing a doctoral thesis.
31% of the work rate will be devoted to teaching.
19% of the work rate will be devoted to activities of the Sport Integrity Research Lab (currently the Centre for Research and Expertise in Anti-Doping Sciences (REDs)).
Your Profile
We wish to recruit a person with the following profile:
- Master’s degree in sociology, gender studies, sports sociology or an equivalent qualification
- Interest in pursuing research activities and developing a thesis in the field of integrity, regulation and gender, linked to Professor Pape’s research interests
- Fluency in French (mandatory for Graduate Assistant) and good knowledge of English (able to publish, present and teach in English)
- Interest in teaching on sports integrity and regulation
- Organisational skills, ability to work autonomously and independently, and within a research team
