Laboratory Technician within Dr Wolf's Laboratory

To complete her team, Dr Wolf is looking for a laboratory technician at 30% or 40%. The starting date is set for 1 October 2026.

The successful candidate will join the recently established laboratory of Dr Benita Wolf, located on the Biopôle Life Sciences campus in Epalinges, near Lausanne.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.

Our CHUV Oncology Department brings together clinical and research activities on cancer with an innovative spirit. It includes medical oncology, radio-oncology, haematology with the CHUV bone marrow transplantation activity, and the experimental therapies centre. It also incorporates the Lausanne branch of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research (LICR) for cancer research, particularly in the field of immunotherapy.

Mission

Your role within the team:

• Conduct cell biology experiments at the heart of the laboratory's research projects
• Work with primary human cells, notably PBMCs and T lymphocytes
• Develop and independently perform flow cytometry analyses
• Ensure preparation of reagents and experimental materials necessary for projects
• Actively participate in the interpretation and sharing of scientific results
• Contribute to the smooth running of the laboratory, stock management, and equipment monitoring
• Participate in a collaborative team dynamic, scientific meetings, and knowledge sharing
• Contribute to the laboratory's scientific output, including publications when the contribution justifies it
• Support new team members in mastering laboratory techniques.

Profile

• Federal Certificate of Capacity (CFC) as a biology laboratory technician, biomedical analysis technician (TAB) training, or equivalent qualification
• Previous experience in biomedical research or laboratory work is desirable
• Practical experience in cell culture and wet lab techniques
• Experience in flow cytometry and/or with primary human cells is an asset
• Rigour, organisational skills, reliability, and autonomy in daily work
• Good collaboration skills and team spirit in a multidisciplinary scientific environment
• Fluency in French; knowledge of English is an asset in an international research environment.

Depending on profile, classification will be between levels 07 and 08.
