The University Geriatric Medicine FELIX PLATTER with over 300 beds operated combines acute geriatric medicine, geriatric psychiatry and neurologically and geriatric-focused rehabilitation; this with an active record of achievement in clinic, teaching and research. You can expect an exciting working environment in acute geriatric medicine with the inpatient wards as well as the specialised departments Delirium Unit, MIBS (multidisciplinary intensive care unit), admission ward, monitoring ward and geriatric traumatology. Interprofessional and interdisciplinary collaboration with flat hierarchies in a respectful working atmosphere plays a central role with us. There is close cooperation with the University Hospital Basel, which, not least through the development of various cross-hospital treatment pathways, ensures optimal treatment of our patients at the highest level. We offer you modern working hours, a manageable workload and a central location of the institution in Basel with very good public transport connections.
Your duties
Senior medical activity on the acute geriatric inpatient wards
Teaching of assistant doctors and medical students
Interprofessional and interdisciplinary collaboration with other medical and non-medical specialists, referring and follow-up institutions
Participation in the on-call system
If qualified, performing and teaching bedside sonography (POCUS)
Active involvement in internal and external training events

Your profile
Specialist title in General Internal Medicine or close to obtaining it (with foreign diploma recognised by MEBEKO)
Interest in geriatric medicine, further training specialising in geriatrics desirable but not mandatory
Commitment, willingness to work and a strong sense of responsibility
High social competence and enjoyment in dealing with our patients and their relatives
Enjoyment of interprofessional and interdisciplinary work
Proficiency in German at least at level C2
