To complete the technical team of the Botanical Garden, the Department of Culture, Social Cohesion and Human Resources of the City of Neuchâtel is looking for a

Botanical Horticulturist at 80%

Department / Botanical Garden

Activities / Maintenance and management of the collections in the humid subtropical greenhouses, cultivation under glass for collections and academic research, management and maintenance of outdoor collections, supervision of civilian service workers and horticulturist apprentices, participation in public events, on-call service and weekend duty.

Desired profile / You hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as a horticulturist specialising in floriculture (or an equivalent qualification deemed acceptable). You have 5 years of experience in maintaining botanical collections or organic cultivation under glass. You have a strong interest in botany and plant conservation. You are proficient with common computer tools. You hold a category B driving licence; a forklift licence would be an advantage. With a dynamic temperament and good adaptability, you work independently and as part of a team. You enjoy working outdoors, are physically fit and able to work at heights.

Specific requirements: You reside in the region to be able to respond within the required time for on-call duties.
