About the job
Rüti ZH is an attractive and dynamic residential and working community with around 13,000 inhabitants – nestled in a recreational area on the southeastern edge of the canton of Zurich. Since January 1, 2022, the school and municipality have been organized as a unified municipality.
About 1,300 students attend the Rüti school in the three managed school units: primary schools Unterdorf and Oberdorf as well as the secondary school. The day structures and school administration support the various school stakeholders in everyday school life.
As part of a succession arrangement, we are looking for an experienced leader to start at the beginning of the 2026/2027 school year or by agreement as
Head of Education 80 to 100 %
Your challenges
- Management and development of the education sector to ensure high educational quality and continuous school development
- Implementation of political and strategic goals
- Personnel management of the eight school principals, the head of the special education department, and the head of day structures
- Position and personnel planning in the education sector
- Communication and public relations in cooperation with various offices
- Cost center responsibility for the education sector
- Advice and support for the school board, especially in pedagogical, school law, and education-specific topics
Your profile
- Committed personality with enthusiasm for education and people management
- Pedagogical training and preferably professional experience in elementary school
- Ideally, you have an additional qualification in school management or a comparable MAS degree as well as experience in project management
- Proven leadership experience with a flair for developing people and organizations
- With solid social and methodological skills, you solve daily challenges systematically, efficiently, and practically
- Your resilience is high, and even in hectic times you maintain your calm and humor
- Comprehensive knowledge of the elementary school system of the canton of Zurich
- Very good oral and written expression
- Ability to communicate solution-oriented appropriately to the situation and to follow up creative ideas in a structured manner
