Social Worker in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry within SUPEA
We are looking for a social worker on a permanent contract at 80% from 1 September 2026, with 60% at the outpatient consultation of the Centre and 20% at the Papillon specialised Consultation (Parental and Infant Outpatient Programme). This is to complete our team at the University Service of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (SUPEA) of the Psychiatry Department of CHUV (DP CHUV), with regular hours on working days.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
The Psychiatry Department consists of 10 services addressing the three stages of life. It covers the Central, West and North psychiatric sectors of the canton of Vaud. Its mission is the comprehensive and multidisciplinary care of children, adolescents, adults and elderly people suffering from mental disorders. Caregivers provide acute care but also offer outpatient follow-ups and care in the usual living environment.
The University Service of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (SUPEA) plays a major reference role in psychiatric treatments for children and adolescents in the Lausanne region and more broadly in the canton of Vaud. The service supports a vision of community psychiatry and therefore offers patients and families local outpatient care. We also provide hospital care, ensure liaison with paediatric units and day centre services, in collaboration with partners. Additionally, we are involved in academic missions of training and research. Since January 2019, the service has brought together child and adolescent psychiatry from the North, West and Central sectors of the canton of Vaud under a single governance to adapt our offer to the constantly evolving needs of the population.
The Central Outpatient Consultation receives children and adolescents aged 0 to 18 years suffering from psychological difficulties, as well as their parents.
These difficulties often affect the relational, social, family or school life of young patients and sometimes also manifest physically.
Care begins with a thorough examination of the child/adolescent’s mental health. Depending on the diagnosis, a treatment plan is proposed, co-constructed with the patients and their families.
The Papillon Consultation (Parental and Infant Outpatient Programme) receives very young children aged 0 to 5 years with their parents or only the parents. They can be followed within the various outpatient units of the northern, western and central regions of the canton of Vaud. This programme is aimed at children and parents who require:
- A consultation in child psychiatry
- Individual and/or family psychotherapeutic follow-up
- Parental guidance
- Referral as needed to network partners
