We are the Terra Vecchia Foundation, a nationally and cantonal well-known non-profit organisation. For people with or without addiction disorders, we offer a variety of services within the framework of work integration, housing support, and inpatient social therapy. Our goal is to accompany people socially and professionally into the heart of society.

Your new workplace is the inpatient social therapy Brienzwiler in the Bernese Oberland, a group programme for people aged 18 and over with an addiction disorder or dual diagnosis. The programme is abstinence-oriented and aims, in addition to employment in realistic work areas with social therapeutic and experiential pedagogical elements, to initiate developmental processes.

Your tasks

• Responsibility for the small goat farm (approx. 16 goats) as well as planning, organising and carrying out agricultural work taking into account budget requirements and sustainable resource use
• Promotion, guidance and support of clients as the work contact person according to their individual resources and objectives as well as the process requirements of Terra Vecchia, including work evaluations, documentation and participation in location and team meetings
• Collaboration in the social therapeutic daily routine with clients, including participation in camps as well as taking on evening, night, weekend and public holiday duties according to the duty roster
• Active involvement in improvement management as well as in the further development of the agricultural work area in cooperation with employees and managers
• Transparent and direct exchange of information with social therapy professionals
• Implementation of safety regulations according to Terra Vecchia’s safety concept
• Maintenance and upkeep of infrastructure, inventory and machinery as well as carrying out maintenance and repair work on buildings, facilities and the surroundings.

Your profile

• Completed training as an EFZ farmer or a comparable qualification with solid agricultural practical experience
• Manual skills as well as competencies in practical work in the area of building maintenance
• Enjoyment in dealing with people and interest in social therapeutic work
• Basic knowledge of pedagogy or willingness to acquire it
• Ability to guide, motivate and support clients in their personal development in a resource- and goal-oriented manner
• Independent, structured and organised working style with a high willingness for personal responsibility, skills in work planning and completion of administrative tasks
• Resilient, flexible and team-oriented personality with the ability to act calmly and solution-oriented even in challenging situations
• Driving licence category B/BE
