The ISME (Swiss Institute of Equine Medicine) of the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Bern operates
a referral clinic for horses and other equids at the Bern location and a veterinary clinic
with a fitness and rehabilitation station as well as a reproduction center at the
Avenches location. The team consists of around 50 employees.
Between January and June 2026, several
internship and FVH residency positions are to be filled at the Bern and Avenches locations.
The internship positions are limited to 1 year and primarily service-oriented.
Completed veterinary studies, from state examination onwards. Applicants
who already have professional experience as practicing veterinarians cannot be considered for the internship position. Desired language skills: German, French, and English
The FVH positions are limited to 1 year - with the possibility of extension - primarily service-oriented and include off-time for projects and/or further training
FVH position requirements: Completed veterinary studies and at least 1 year of assistantship with significant horse involvement. Desired language skills: German, French, and English
