Reference: CLS/RH/2026.769 / Contract type: Permanent contract at 100% / Start date: as soon as we find the right person / Location: in the heart of Lausanne (M2 stop "Riponne" or Bus 2, 3 or 21 stop "Beaulieu-Jomini")
Why do we need you?
Following the departure of the current post holder and the evolution of the Nursing Directorate's organisation, driven by the arrival of a new Director of Nursing, we are looking for a Head Nurse Coordinator of Care Units to support this new dynamic.
What will you be expected to do?
- Lead and optimise the organisation of nursing activities in collaboration with the managers, to ensure efficient, safe and quality care for our patients
- Work closely with the Director of Nursing on the strategic development of the department, as well as on the promotion and deployment of nursing activities in accordance with institutional policy, and act as deputy in their absence
- Promote a managerial culture based on trust, participation and respect, encouraging autonomy and accountability of managers and care teams (149 FTE)
- Support the professional skills development of collaborators and managers, defining the necessary training axes and plans to achieve objectives
- Contribute to the department's budget management (FTE, medical supplies, equipment) and to risk and quality management through institutional dashboards
- Lead and implement projects that will meet today’s and tomorrow’s challenges, as a true driver of continuous care improvement
Who will you work with?
What do we expect from you?
Essentials:
- HES nursing diploma or equivalent qualification recognised by the Swiss Red Cross and advanced management training
- Several years of professional and hospital experience
- Proven experience in managing nursing teams and supervising managers
- Good knowledge of the Swiss healthcare system and its challenges
- Management, organisational and planning skills and project management abilities
- Ability to unite multidisciplinary teams by fostering trust, accountability and collaboration
- Excellent communication skills
- Strategic vision combined with strong proximity to field realities
- Ability to develop skills, support managers and promote a culture of continuous improvement
Your assets:
- Experience in a coordination or nursing management role
- Holding a Master’s degree in nursing management
- Innovative mindset and ability to evolve practices based on the needs of teams and patients
