In the course of an orderly succession arrangement for the current officeholder, we are seeking the futureHead of Financial Administration
as of 1 March 2027 or by agreement.Your Tasks
Together with your team of 17 employees, you are responsible for financial planning, budgeting and accounting as well as payroll execution for the Canton of Thurgau. As an established leader, you further develop your team and, as an experienced financial specialist, you ensure financial controlling, risk management and the management of assets, thereby guaranteeing the canton’s permanent liquidity. You also prepare the annual financial report, regularly report to the head of department and competently support the cantonal government and departments as a sparring partner on financial matters. Participation in municipal, cantonal, inter-cantonal and Swiss committees and commissions completes your area of activity.
Your Profile
For this versatile and demanding role, we are looking for a strong leader with a completed higher education (university, university of applied sciences, MAS, federal diploma) in business administration and finance. Thanks to your several years of professional experience, you have proven knowledge in planning, organisation, leadership, control and further development of a finance department. It is advantageous if you also have very good knowledge of the structures, processes and accounting standards (HRM2) in public accounting as well as very good IT skills (Abacus). You think and act result-oriented, question the status quo, shape processes, lead projects and drive future developments. Thanks to your communication skills, negotiation talent and flair for political contexts, you succeed in good collaboration with various stakeholders. You also convince with your pragmatic working style and your loyal and committed nature.
