The Motor Vehicle Control is responsible for the approval of persons, road vehicles, and ships for traffic, as well as for checking the operational safety of road vehicles and ships in traffic or newly to be approved within the framework of technical inspections. It also conducts theoretical and practical driving tests, monitors the driving aptitude of road users, among other things by assigning them to traffic medical checks, and enforces the federal administrative sanctions law (e.g. warnings, driving licence withdrawals, driving bans, or traffic instruction). For the Services Department, we are looking for a Head of Finance and Controlling, 80% at the Bellach location from 01.12.2026 or by agreement.
Your responsibilities
- You lead the Finance and Controlling office in terms of personnel, expertise, finance, and organisation and develop your team purposefully.
- You are responsible for the financial planning and control of the office – from budget and global budget to reporting and cost accounting to the annual financial statement.
- In your role, you ensure meaningful financial reporting and support the office management with sound analyses, key figures, and decision-making bases.
- You ensure the implementation of quality management according to ISO 9001:2015 at the office level.
- Furthermore, you optimise processes, lead or accompany projects, and maintain collaboration with cantonal authorities such as financial control and the Office of Finance.
Your profile
- You have a solid education or further training in finance, accounting, or controlling and bring several years of professional experience in a comparable role.
- Thanks to your leadership experience, you know how to lead, promote, and develop employees in a goal-oriented manner.
- You possess sound knowledge in financial planning, accounting, budgeting, reporting, as well as cost and performance accounting.
- Networked and analytical thinking characterise you as much as an independent, structured working style and a high quality and service orientation.
- You communicate appropriately for the target audience and work constructively with internal and external stakeholders; knowledge of public administration and quality management is an advantage.
