With BWplus, we are building a home in Pratteln for people who too often fall through the cracks of the system – with a concept that wants to understand first before acting. For this, we are looking for the leader who embodies this attitude.

The Adulta Foundation supports adults with disabilities at four locations in the Basel region – in housing, day activities, and work. Around 220 employees work daily to ensure that our clients can lead as self-determined a life as possible.

Your area of responsibility

• Establishing a new residential group from the start as well as professional, personnel and organisational leadership and consistent further development together with the team
• Responsibility for an understanding-oriented support: reading behaviour as communication, preventing crises, acting de-escalatingly and reducing freedom-restricting measures to the necessary minimum
• Close cooperation with the professional project management of the BWplus offer – jointly shaping the pedagogical orientation and further developing the concept and support
• Maintaining cooperation with relatives, legal representatives, psychiatric and medical services as well as internal specialist departments
• Responsibility for duty planning, budget and quality of your department as well as shaping the future of the foundation as part of the management team

Your profile

• Completed tertiary-level education in the social field (e.g. social pedagogy HF/FH, curative education) as well as leadership training (e.g. CAS) or willingness to complete this
• Several years of leadership experience and solid practice in supporting people with cognitive impairments, autism spectrum disorder and/or challenging behaviours
• Confident knowledge in de-escalation, crisis intervention and development- or understanding-oriented approaches (e.g. SEED, Positive Behaviour Support)
• Calmness, clarity and resilience – even when it gets loud; you reflect on your actions and maintain a balance between closeness and distance
• Strong communication skills, a good sense of humour and the conviction that every person deserves a good life
