About the job
Office for Labour
Head of Internal Communications 60 - 80%
Work changes lives – and that is exactly what drives us. The Office for Labour (AFA) of the Canton of Zurich is committed every day to helping people re-enter the workforce, companies find the right talents, and keeping the labour market in the Canton of Zurich strong. With around 900 employees at various locations, we pool labour market expertise and stay close to people, businesses, and the realities of working life. You don’t work just anywhere with us. You work where your contribution really counts.
How does an Office for Labour communicate so that it is heard? How do we explain complex topics clearly, for job seekers, companies, the public, and politicians? And how do we manage to bring our employees along on the journey of the AFA 2030 strategy and communicate progress understandably? These questions are our craft. In the AFA Communications & Networking team, we develop strategies, produce content, and support spokespeople in relevant appearances, both internally and externally. Equally important to us is networking: with events for our stakeholders and with new, attractive channels, we maintain and strengthen relationships – with companies, specialist partners, and within the AFA.
From 1 January 2027, we are looking for you as an editorially strong, creatively skilled personality for the area of responsibility of Internal Communications.
Your tasks:
- Editing and further development of internal news formats (including AFA 2030 News, portraits "People on ZHub")
- Further development and management of our intranet ZHub, including creation of editorial guidelines
- Definition and maintenance of a uniform AFA appearance (CI/CD), including imagery and colour palette
- Creation and maintenance of office templates for all AFA employees
- Development and training of the AFA corporate language
- Participation in internal events and projects
Your profile:
- Higher education in communication, editing, journalism or comparable field
- Experience in internal communications and editing, ideally with an intranet or CMS
- Sense for design, CI/CD and visual communication
- Structured, careful and independent working style
- Enjoyment in collaborating with a wide range of internal stakeholders
- Confident command of German
We offer:
- You can expect a versatile role with plenty of creative freedom: you will actively help build the Internal Communications area and significantly shape how the AFA presents itself internally. Flexible working hours and meal subsidies are standard with us. Your workplace? Central in Zurich, just a 5-minute walk from the main station.
Does this role appeal to you and are you an editorially strong, organised personality?
Monika Gut, Head of Communications, will be happy to provide further information: monika.gut@vd.zh.ch We look forward to your application. Learn more about us and our employees at www.zh.ch/afa .
