About the job

The tandem programme "come together" is one of seven offerings in the Migration sector. Volunteers accompany adult individuals and support them in networking, building social contacts, and accessing community services in the districts of Andelfingen and Winterthur. "Meet'n'Speak" is an offering for children, adolescents, and young adults with limited German skills, who can practise their language skills in everyday life and form new relationships in a language meet-up or a tandem with volunteers. This also includes the food meet-up "stir it up", where a group of volunteers and young people cook together. For the coordination of these impactful offerings, we are looking for a communicative, independent, and action-oriented personality who enjoys working with volunteers.

Your Area of Impact

• Conducting assessment interviews with interested volunteers and participants, coordinating the matching of volunteers and participants, and accompanying the initial meetings

• Recruiting volunteers, providing professional support, managing personnel, and accompanying them in their commitment

• Planning, organising, and conducting the group meet-up for children in Winterthur as well as the food meet-up "stir it up"

• Organising and conducting information, introduction, and exchange events for volunteers as well as group events for programme participants

• Maintaining collaboration with municipalities, specialist agencies, and other network partners, as well as making the offerings visible through networking and public relations work

• Ensuring careful administration, file management, and data collection

Your Profile

• Completed education in social sciences (FH/UH), social pedagogy, socio-cultural animation (HF level), adult education (Swiss Federal Diploma Trainer/Trainerin) or a comparable qualification

• Experience working with volunteers and enjoyment in accompanying, motivating, and networking people

• Several years of professional experience in a transcultural environment

• High degree of independence, organisational talent, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and activities simultaneously while maintaining an overview

• Strong social, communication, and counselling skills as well as a confident and appreciative manner towards diverse stakeholders

• Resource-oriented attitude and ability to reflect

• Enjoyment in bringing people together through communal activities and interest in topics such as nutrition, cooking, and social encounters

• Willingness for occasional early evening shifts; Tuesday and Wednesday are fixed working days

• Connection to the Winterthur and/or Andelfingen region is an advantage
