The city of Illnau-Effretikon - located between Winterthur and Zurich - offers attractive conditions for around 18,000 inhabitants with its rural and urban areas, hamlets, centers, and the historic village of Kyburg.
The municipal collection point serves the population for the disposal of all types of waste and recyclable materials and is located in the Vogelsang industrial area, a 10-minute walk from Effretikon train station.
As of December 1, 2025, or by arrangement, we are looking to complement our team with a customer-oriented personality as
YOUR TASKS IN THIS POSITION ARE:
- Professional management of the waste disposal area and the municipal recycling collection point with three employees
- Regular shifts at the collection point during opening hours, including Saturdays
- Various administrative tasks, e.g., handling customer inquiries, cash reconciliation, maintaining statistics, etc.
- Container management, organization and control of waste provision and collection services throughout the city
- Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of disposal facilities at the collection point and in the city area
- Inspection of waste provision sites, handling violations and illegal waste deposits
- Responsible person for the municipal animal carcass collection point
- Organization and execution of special events, e.g., drop-off and pick-up day or Clean-up Day
YOUR PROFILE FITS PERFECTLY IF YOU:
- have completed training in waste disposal, logistics, or a comparable field
- have leadership experience in a comparable position
- have several years of professional experience in waste disposal and recycling, ideally in the public sector
- have a strong customer orientation and enjoy working with people
- have very good German language skills, both spoken and written, and are familiar with MS Office
- are interested in environmental issues and circular economy
- enjoy working both in the office and outdoors
- hold a category B driving license and a forklift license
- enjoy working in a small team and are team-oriented, resilient, and loyal
