We are looking for temporary reinforcement for our team during a maternity leave.

🧭The handover of specialist responsibility is planned and carefully supported. This allows you to familiarise yourself with the role step by step and start confidently in your new position.

🧭You will take on 60% of the specialist responsibility for blindness and visual impairment and, depending on your workload, additionally work as a Registered Nurse HF during the day shift.

🧭In your specialist role, you support our residents to live as independently and safely as possible with their visual impairment. You advise on suitable aids, contribute your expertise to the team, and work closely with external specialist agencies.

👁️ 🗨️You are close to the residents
You support our residents in the areas of low vision, orientation and mobility, practical life skills, as well as Information and Communication Technology (ICT). You actively approach them, observe their daily lives, and together with them identify where support, advice, or suitable aids are beneficial.

You advise our residents on the selection and adaptation of appropriate aids and clarify possibilities for cost coverage if necessary.

You accompany new residents upon admission with a special focus on the effects of blindness or visual impairment. You recognise potential stress and crisis situations early and support the planning of appropriate measures.

🧠You connect people and expertise
You convey knowledge about blindness and visual impairment and conduct practical training and presentations for staff. You ensure that your expertise reaches where it is needed in everyday life.

You work closely with nursing, activation, relatives, and external specialist agencies, coordinate collaboration, and accompany relevant processes, for example together with rehabilitation specialists for people with visual impairment.

🌱You help shape special offerings
You conduct individual activities for our residents, such as audio-described film offerings or other activities tailored to the needs of people with visual impairments.

What you bring – a professional with heart

✨Diploma as a Registered Nurse FH, HF, DN II or AKP
✨For the specialist responsibility, you have an interest in the topics of blindness and visual impairment. Existing expertise is welcome but not a prerequisite

✨Enjoyment in conveying knowledge in a practical and varied way – in short learning sequences, presentations, and knowledge bites.
✨Experience in long-term care? Great, but not essential
✨A sensitivity for people – especially those with visual impairments or blindness
✨Clarity in language, warmth in tone
✨You think along, take initiative, and gladly take on responsibility
