Accompanying Nurse - Humanitarian Trip to Madagascar

The Collège Champittet Foundation organises an annual humanitarian trip to Ambandja / northern Madagascar. This solidarity project allows our 16-18 year old students to engage concretely with local communities, notably through support for an orphanage and a school. To accompany this expedition of 20 people including 3 teachers, we are looking for a nurse.

Mission

As a healthcare professional, you will ensure the good health of the group of students and teachers: medication intake, allergies, illnesses or accidents occurring on site, etc. You will work in good harmony with the experienced teacher responsible for the trip and communicate, if necessary, with the students’ parents and the College management in Switzerland. If needed, you will liaise with local medical structures or international emergency services.

Period

The trip will take place during the Vaud school holidays in October, from 10 to 25 October 2026.

• CHF 800 allowance for the trip

Profile sought

• Bachelor in nursing or equivalent (Red Cross recognition mandatory for foreign diplomas)
• If possible, prior experience with children and/or adolescents
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in an intercultural environment in a distant country with standards very different from Switzerland
• Good command of French and English
• Swiss nationality or valid work permit
