In the IT Services area, we are responsible for the construction and operation of the network infrastructure of DV Bern and our customers. In our "Network" department, we are responsible for operating in-house applications & tools as well as customer networks.

As a Senior System Engineer, you actively shape the digital infrastructure of tomorrow with us. You take on a central role in planning, managing, and further developing our network infrastructure – both in the DV Bern data center and on-site at our customers. In a versatile technological environment, you work with modern solutions such as switching, firewalling, WiFi, and secure access services and bring your expertise to new construction and lifecycle projects as well as 2nd and 3rd level support. We expect from you

• Completed education in computer science (federal certificate/diploma/HF/FH or equivalent)
• At least 8 years of professional experience in the network environment
• Operation, engineering, and further development of network core and access infrastructure (core, dark fiber, routing, switching, security)
• Configuration and optimization of OSPF, BGP, VLAN, trunk, and redundancy concepts
• Engineering of FortiGate clusters, FortiAnalyzer, FortiNAC, and associated security services (IDS/IPS, web filter, VPN, DDoS protection)
• Experience in automation with Ansible and implementation and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (automation, documentation, templates) or willingness to learn this
• Strong service orientation, high independence, and personal responsibility
• Support in customer projects from small to large SMEs, from conception to commissioning
• Structured, reliable, and responsible working style
• Support in 24/7 operations
• Enjoyment of technical precision, teamwork, and continuous development
• Very good German skills as well as solid English skills for documentation and manufacturer contacts
• Driver's license category B
