The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences in Switzerland. At PSI, we conduct cutting-edge research in the fields of future technologies, energy and climate, health innovation, as well as the fundamentals of nature. Through basic and applied research, we work on sustainable solutions for central questions from society, science, and the economy. The education of young people is a central concern of PSI. Therefore, about a quarter of our employees are postdoctoral researchers, doctoral candidates, or apprentices. In total, PSI employs 2300 staff members.
The Career Center has been supporting doctoral and postdoctoral researchers since 2018 with questions about their professional development. Our offerings range from individual career counseling to workshops and events, as well as support in career planning, job entry, and professional transitions within and outside academia. The goal of the Career Center is to accompany researchers in making informed career decisions, developing their skills purposefully, and positioning themselves successfully in the job market. For our team, we are looking for a
Your tasks
- Support in planning, organizing, and conducting workshops, career events, and information sessions
- Collaboration on the career platform including creating and editing texts, publishing event advertisements, and updating content
- Support in marketing and communication measures (e.g., website, social media, newsletter, flyers)
- Support in application coaching (CV check, motivation letter, interview preparation)
- Research on labor market trends, professional fields, and potential partner organizations
- Administrative tasks such as appointment organization, correspondence, database maintenance, and creating presentations
- Participation in maintaining and further developing alumni activities
- Collaboration on projects to further develop the Career Center and its offerings
Your profile
- In a bachelor's or master's program, e.g., in communication, business administration, psychology, social sciences, or related fields
- Interest in topics related to career development, HR, labor market, and talent promotion
- Structured, reliable, and independent working style
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Very good German skills and English skills in spoken and written form
