The VHS Solothurn operates its CULTURAL BISTRO directly at Solothurn station. The bistro is publicly accessible to all who wish to enjoy a cosy drink, a lunch menu, or other small meals. It can be rented for private events and seminars with catering. Additionally, the Cultural Bistro offers performances by various artists, readings, courses, dance events, lectures, and much more.

We are looking for a

Head of Cultural Bistro / Gastronomy (80% - 100%)

immediately or by arrangement.

Hello organisational talent with a passion for gastronomy. If you want to inspire our customers in the bistro and during events, an exciting position awaits you, mostly during daytime hours without overnight shifts.

Your tasks:

• Operational and strategic management of the restaurant to ensure a smooth daily routine
• Active participation as a host personality
• Leadership and development of the service team and kitchen (400 full-time equivalents), planning of effective workflows, deployment and holiday planning
• Further development and involvement in shaping the gastronomy concept
• Guest care at events and private occasions
• Responsible for cost and budget control as well as ordering
• Handling administrative tasks such as billing, monthly closings, and inventories
• Working in day-to-day operations and actively supporting service, kitchen, and events while ensuring a high level of service and quality
• Responsible for compliance, implementation, and control of hygiene and occupational safety

Your profile:

• Completed training in the gastronomy sector or hotel management school
• Several years of experience in gastronomy, preferably in a similar role
• Experience in staff management is a prerequisite
• Passion and enthusiasm for gastronomy, strong customer orientation, and sales flair
• Team player, communication skills, solution orientation, and organisational talent as pronounced strengths
• A host with passion, professional appearance, and operational commitment are your advantages
