EI&C Maintenance Engineer

Job description:

As an EI&C Maintenance Engineer, you ensure the reliable operation and continuous improvement of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems in production and utility plants.

Your responsibilities include:

• Maintenance and servicing of electrical systems, instrumentation, automation, and process control systems
• Analysis and troubleshooting of faults in electrical, measurement, control, and automation technology
• Planning, coordination, and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance measures
• Support in root cause analyses and implementation of sustainable corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Maintenance and support of DeltaV process control systems (DCS/PCS) and associated automation infrastructure
• Participation in configuration changes, testing, fault analysis, and implementations in the automation environment
• Collaboration with production, automation, and process engineering to optimise plants and control strategies
• Support in system upgrades, lifecycle activities, and validations
• Technical support for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ideally Syncade
• Support with issues in production execution and electronic batch records
• Recording, evaluation, and prioritisation of technical requests from production
• Coordination of maintenance work with production planning to minimise downtime
• Documentation of maintenance activities in SAP
• Support with change controls, deviations, investigations, risk assessments, and qualification activities
• Participation in reliability, asset management, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support in engineering, commissioning, and operational readiness activities

Our client is an internationally leading company in the life sciences sector with a significant production and engineering site in Visp. The site operates highly automated production plants in a demanding, GMP-regulated environment.

Modern production technologies, automation, and continuous investments in the site create a technically diverse working environment where plant availability, reliability, and operational excellence play a central role.

Requirements:

• Technical education or degree (HF, BSc or MSc) in electrical engineering, automation, process control technology, or a comparable field
• Several years of experience in industrial maintenance, automation, or a process-technical production environment
• Sound knowledge of electrical engineering and industrial instrumentation
• Practical experience with DeltaV or comparable process control systems (DCS/PCS)
• Experience in systematic fault finding on electrical, instrumented, and automated plants
• Good understanding of maintenance processes and root cause analysis
• Experience in a GMP-regulated or validated production environment
• Fluent German language skills; English skills are an advantage
• SAP knowledge in maintenance is an advantage
• Experience with MES systems, especially Syncade, is an advantage
• Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, or another highly regulated process industry is desirable
