The Zurich Opera House is the largest cultural institution in Switzerland with around 600 full-time employees in 146 professions and enjoys the highest reputation far beyond the national borders. With over 300 events annually (opera, ballet, concerts, song evenings), the Zurich Opera House is one of the most productive and renowned cultural venues in Europe. The historic Zurich Opera House and the adjacent extension building must be renovated in the first half of the 2030s, and concrete planning for this project is already underway. The goal is to remedy the fundamental deficiencies so that the Opera House can continue to fulfill its mandate anchored in the Opera House Act and strive for "outstanding quality and international impact of the artistic performance" as well as "the communication of its offerings to broad segments of the population."
We are looking for a starting December 2025 or by arrangement
Communication Officer (80 to 100%) "Future Opera"
As part of the Future Opera department, you will take on central tasks in media and online communication for the Opera House for the "Future Opera" project.
Your tasks:
- You are responsible for the strategic communication for the "Future Opera" project.
- You represent the project convincingly in public discourse and on various platforms.
- You continue the initiated participation process and shape the involvement of further stakeholders. For this, you create suitable occasions and forums.
- You design convincing communication with regard to the upcoming decisions.
Your profile:
- You have several years of experience in media and political communication as well as in creative storytelling.
- You are an experienced and strategically thinking professional with cultural system understanding and a clear awareness of the social responsibility of cultural institutions.
- You are characterized by conceptual strength, analytical thinking, and a pronounced implementation orientation.
- Your experience in communication of construction projects, in the context of political decisions, or in large campaigns on the agency side is an advantage.
- Your excellent network in Zurich – especially with media, administrations, politics, and cultural institutions – rounds off your profile.
