About Orient Express Venice at Palazzo Donà Giovannelli

Orient Express will open its second hotel in Italy in the exceptional city of Venice. Architect and interior designer Aline Amar d'Amman, along with her studio Culture in Architecture, has been commissioned to design and decorate the spaces.

Venice, once the gateway to Constantinople and a legendary stop of the Orient Express train – which opened in 1919 with the completion of the Simplon Tunnel connecting Switzerland to Italy – will be the site of the second Orient Express hotel, scheduled to open in 2026.

Under the general guidance of the Executive Housekeeper or any other person authorized by management, you will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Laundry and Uniform Distribution areas in accordance with hotel standards.

• Monitor and follow up on Uniform Distribution requests and all guest dry cleaning and laundry requests.
• Ensure that all guest laundry and dry cleaning items are delivered to rooms properly packed and in line with standards.
• Perform minor tailoring repairs for guests, such as mending tears, hemming garments, or reattaching buttons.
• Perform similar minor repairs for staff uniforms when necessary.
• Ensure washing machines and dryers are used correctly.
• Ensure the proper functioning of the press and ironer.
• Keep the Executive Housekeeper informed of any issues or concerns related to laundry operations.

• Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel or hospital environment is preferred but not always required for entry-level positions.
• Experience in a luxury hotel (5 stars) is considered a plus.
• Previous experience working in a laundry environment is essential.
• Fluency in both Italian and English is required.
• Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for cleanliness.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Polite, friendly, and customer service-oriented attitude.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
• Ability to anticipate and focus on guest needs, being professional and welcoming.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
