About the job

For an elderly couple in the canton of Zurich, we are looking for an experienced, warm-hearted and responsible individual who will accompany and support the couple comprehensively and long-term in their daily life.

The focus of this position, in addition to household support, is particularly on personal care, everyday companionship and assistance with the care of elderly people. Therefore, we are seeking a person with several years of practical experience in the care and support of senior citizens, who is familiar with the special needs of older people and acts prudently and independently in various everyday situations.

We desire a trustworthy personality who enjoys personally accompanying elderly people, promoting their well-being in daily life, and supporting them with patience, respect and empathy.

Your Tasks

Care and Everyday Companionship

• Personal and individual care of the couple in daily life
• Support with everyday tasks and, if necessary, with personal care
• Accompanying on walks and activities
• Accompanying to doctor’s appointments, therapies and other engagements
• Support with errands and shopping
• Providing company and promoting a pleasant, positive daily routine
• Attention to general well-being and individual support needs
• Observing changes in physical or general condition and passing on important information
• Independent and proactive action in daily life
• Support with organisational and personal matters as agreed

Household

• Cleaning and careful maintenance of the entire household
• Washing and ironing laundry as needed
• Order and organisation in the household
• Support with shopping and minor errands
• Ensuring a tidy and pleasant living environment
• Support in the kitchen as needed

Driving Services

• Occasional driving of the couple by car
• Trips to doctor’s appointments, shopping, activities and other errands

Your Profile

For this responsible position, we explicitly seek a person with solid and practical experience in the care and support of elderly people.

You bring the following:

• Several years of experience in the care and support of elderly people
• Experience in dealing with elderly or dependent people
• Experience as a care assistant, carer, everyday companion, senior carer, housekeeper or in a comparable role
• Empathy and understanding for the individual needs of elderly people
• Confident and respectful interaction with people who require support in daily life
• Ability to attentively perceive changes in well-being
• Reliable, careful and independent working style
• High sense of responsibility as well as discretion and trustworthiness
• Patience, warmth and respectful manner
• Enjoyment of personal and long-term care
• Good German and good English skills
• Category B driving licence and safe driving experience
• Willingness to drive the couple by car if needed
• Flexibility and interest in a long-term collaboration

Training or further education in the care, support or health sector is an advantage.
