With more than 13,000 employees representing 160 professions, the Geneva University Hospitals are a nationally and internationally recognised institution. To learn more about our organisation, take a few minutes to view our 2025 retrospective by clicking here .
The position is attached to the Department of Community and Primary Care Medicine (DMCPR). This department combines a societal mission aimed at ensuring access to healthcare for all and an academic mission focused on pre- and post-graduate teaching and research in primary care medicine.
The Primary Care Medicine Service (SMPR) provides outpatient care for adult patients within primary care medicine. This service also offers outpatient emergency medical services to the population. As part of the Geneva University Hospitals' general interest missions, it provides access to healthcare for disadvantaged populations due to their age, social, economic, legal status (asylum seekers, those subject to non-admission, undocumented migrants, prisoners), or lifestyle habits; if necessary, the primary care medicine service also ensures continuity of their care.
The Patient Therapeutic Education Unit manages, diagnostically and therapeutically, patients suffering from obesity, diabetes, eating disorders, and associated pathologies. Following a biopsychosocial approach, the multidisciplinary team places the patient at the centre of their care pathway. Therapeutic Patient Education (TPE) is a model of education and support for people living with a chronic illness, based on partnership with the patient and their relatives, aiming to strengthen their health skills, motivation, and quality of life.
Job Description
We are looking for a psychologist specialised in psychotherapy.
Your mission is to conduct assessments, provide psychotherapeutic and educational care, and deliver therapeutic education. Recognising the patient’s experience is the cornerstone of TPE, and your follow-ups must be personalised and interdisciplinary, using varied educational methods aimed at promoting the acquisition of self-care and disease adaptation skills.
You will lead group activities (sharing groups, courses) related to the mentioned pathologies within a multidisciplinary team composed of doctors, nurses, dietitians, psychologists, physiotherapists, and art therapists.
Qualifications
You hold a Master’s degree from a Swiss university in psychology or an equivalent diploma and a federal psychotherapist title or are undergoing postgraduate specialisation in psychotherapy.
You have excellent knowledge of the French language and a genuine motivation for teamwork and networking. You can handle stress well and have good skills to work in a multidisciplinary team. You are motivated and committed in your professional activities and demonstrate good adaptability to various follow-ups.
You have knowledge, interest, and successful experience in the field of eating disorders, particularly in obesity. Specialisation in cognitive-behavioural or systemic therapy and training in hypnosis are assets.
