Senior System Engineer / Team Leader IT

What to expect

As an IT leader in a medium-sized company in the cybersecurity sector, you will take the internal IT to the next level together with your small IT team – conceptually, operationally, and future-oriented. With your technical expertise, your open and communicative personality, and your ability to continuously optimize the IT infrastructure and services in a hybrid environment, you actively shape our demanding and modern IT work environment.

Your varied range of tasks includes the following responsibilities:

• You are responsible for the further development and operation of our internal IT infrastructure (Windows/Linux servers, Windows clients, network, security components, backup, storage, virtualization, database systems, Active Directory/EntraID, M365, Azure, etc.)
• As a security-conscious system engineer, you optimize and operate various security systems and components, from firewalls, EDR to identity & access management, and ensure professional operational processes in this regard
• Planning and implementing demanding lifecycle and other IT projects, proactively as well as reactively solving tricky IT issues
• You enjoy inspiring the team and trainees and, as a team leader, achieving "the next level" together. Whether through automation, standardization, AI technologies, IT operations process optimizations, or implementation of new requirements
• You are responsible for smooth, secure operation and efficient IT support. You also align yourself with relevant ITIL processes and standards. As a role model, you actively participate in operational tasks and consistently generate a "wow effect" within the team and among users

What you bring

As a passionate "techie" and pronounced leader, you bring the following:

• Completed vocational training or degree in computer science or comparable qualification
• Solid and proven professional experience in a demanding medium to large IT environment, ideally with increased security requirements
• In-depth knowledge and extensive practical experience regarding the setup, operation, and further development of the mentioned specialist topics and relevant additional system components, proficient handling of Powershell and automation frameworks
• Strong drive to implement with pronounced quality awareness as well as leadership mentality (leadership experience is an advantage)
• Familiarity with relevant ITIL processes as well as agile working methods (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe etc.)
• Fluent German skills (C1/C2) as well as technical English (B2/C1)
• Impeccable reputation
