What you can achieve with us
You work in a heterogeneous class with 4 to 8 children with blindness, visual impairment and/or on the autism spectrum (AS). You support the class team in individual as well as group sessions. You participate in the planning and implementation of lessons as well as in organising the daily routine. You also take on tasks at the lunch table. After the introduction, you take over individual learning sequences. If necessary, you also work in the residential groups and participate in camps, events or excursions.
This pre-traineeship is suitable for those interested in training in the educational-social field. During the internship, you reflect on your educational attitude and behaviour and are accompanied by a specialist.

What you bring with you
You are interested in education for the blind and visually impaired as well as children with disabilities. You are at least 18 years old, have empathy and a sense of humour, and act calmly and solution-oriented even in difficult situations. You are always aware of your responsibility. With your open, friendly and helpful manner, you contribute to a good team atmosphere.

What you can look forward to
Through the internship, you gain deeper insight into working with visually or multiply impaired or blind children and young people and are trained and supported by specialists.
You are part of a well-coordinated, professional team that supports each other and learns from one another. We exchange ideas at regular meetings. Informal occasions such as team outings or annual celebrations also have their place with us.
Our clear structures and framework conditions provide security and enable independent work. In addition, you will be carefully introduced to the subject area and can undertake internal training.

We are the Foundation for Blind and Visually Impaired Children and Young People Zollikofen - a private, politically and denominationally neutral organisation with a non-profit objective. Our task is to support and accompany people with special needs from birth to young adulthood.
We offer additional services to parents, teachers of public mainstream schools and special primary schools as well as to professionals. Our core competencies lie in the support and accompaniment of young people with visual impairment, blindness, multiple disabilities or from the autism spectrum.
