Apprentice Media Technologist CFC
Do you want to learn a concrete profession where you prepare, print, and finalize printed materials that will be seen by patients, caregivers, and all CHUV teams? Join the Printing and Reprography Center (CIR) of the IT Department on August 10, 2026!
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals and ranks among the best hospital institutions worldwide according to the Newsweek 2025 ranking. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in care, research, and education.
Within the Information Systems Directorate (DSI), the Printing and Reprography Center (CIR) handles all printing services of the institution: layout, file processing, laser and inkjet printing (including large format and vinyl), printing on objects, mailings, folding, finishing (cutting, creasing, perforating, binding, stapling, gluing), laser engraving and textile transfer. You will work on modern and efficient machines, in direct contact with various internal clients.
Mission
- You welcome and advise internal clients: paper type, formats, finishes, deadlines; you prepare quotes
- You prepare data (texts, images), check files and ensure compliance with standards
- You prepare production: RIP configuration, color management and printing profiles, proofing for control
- You print (color / black and white), monitor the print run and perform finishing (cutting, creasing, perforating, binding, stapling, gluing, etc.)
- You document your settings, plan the steps and ensure batch traceability.
- You maintain production equipment, detect common faults and apply safety rules
- You manage specific waste disposal (sorting, recycling) within a quality/environmental approach.
Profile
- You have completed your compulsory schooling
- You have a good perception of colors, rigor and precision
- You enjoy teamwork and have an interest in graphic arts and technology
- You are organized, methodical and comfortable with digital tools (PDF workflows, RIP, etc.)
- Assets: good command of French, curiosity about printing processes and finishing.
