About the job
Together with its partners, the St.Gallen Building Insurance (GVSG) protects its customers from fire and natural hazards and supports them in the event of damage. It is committed to damage prevention and fire services and provides insurance coverage in the event of an incident. As an independent public-law company, it employs around 60 full-time and 160 part-time staff.
For the collection of insurance and tax values of all buildings and properties in the canton, as well as for the assessment of building damage in the event of a claim, we employ part-time specialist assessors and damage experts.
We are looking for an experienced person from the construction sector in the Linth region by arrangement as
Damage Expert and Specialist Assessor
Workload: 15-25% paid hourly
Workplace: Canton of St.Gallen
Your tasks
As a damage expert, you inspect the damaged building after a claim and determine the extent of the damage. After restoration, you check the repair work.
As a specialist assessor, you are responsible for property and building valuations within the assigned municipalities. Together with the local land registry administrators, you determine the insurance values of buildings and the tax values of properties.
Your profile
Our advertisement is preferably aimed at self-employed and practising certified architects
or certified construction managers
with:
- several years of practical experience (including local site management) in building construction
- solid knowledge of the regional market conditions in the construction and real estate sector
- confident demeanour and high professional and social competence
- reliable and honest personality
- willingness for flexible deployment in the event of damage incidents
- quick comprehension and efficient working style
- negotiation skills and assertiveness
